Instagram influencer pricing, what a post should cost by tier

Orientation ranges for post fees and the factors that move them up or down.

There is no fixed price list

Creators set their own fees, and the same account can quote differently to different brands. What you can do is anchor on a range and adjust for the factors that matter. A common way to think about it is a cost per thousand followers, adjusted for engagement.

As an orientation, a rate between roughly 10 and 30 US dollars per thousand followers covers many Instagram posts, with smaller accounts at the higher end per follower and large accounts at the lower end. Treat this as a negotiating anchor, not a rule.

What pushes the fee up

Strong engagement for the tier, a clearly relevant audience, a niche where products sell, high production quality and extra rights such as paid usage or exclusivity all raise the price. A creator who consistently drives purchases can justify more than the range suggests.

What should bring it down

Weak engagement, an audience in the wrong country, a feed full of sponsored posts and signs of an inflated following are reasons to offer less. If the audit shows a low authenticity score, the right answer may be no fee at all.

Deliverables and rights

Agree exactly what you are paying for: a feed post, a reel, stories, a link, a number of revisions, usage rights and a posting window. Fees differ widely between a single story frame and a reel with usage rights for your ads. Put it in writing.

Use a fair rate range in the conversation

The full FollowerSeek report shows a fair rate range per post based on tier and engagement, so you start from a number instead of guessing. See the plans to unlock it, and read our influencer vetting checklist to decide whom to offer it to.

A simple way to set an offer

Start with the follower count in thousands and multiply by a rate per thousand that fits your niche and the tier. For a creator with 40,000 followers and a rate of 15 US dollars per thousand, the anchor is 600 US dollars. Now adjust. If engagement is well above the band, move up by ten to thirty percent. If it is under the band, move down by the same amount or ask for performance based pay.

Add usage rights separately. If you plan to run the content as an ad, that has a price on top of the post fee. Be explicit about the period and the channels, and do not assume it comes included.

Keep records. Over a few campaigns you will see which fees led to results, and you can set your own ranges from your own data. That beats any public price list, because it reflects your product, your audience and your margins.

One more thing to do

One more point on negotiation. Ask the creator for their rate card first when they have one, then compare it with your anchor and the audit. If the number is far above the range, explain what you can offer instead, such as a longer partnership, product, or a performance bonus. Most creators prefer a fair deal that continues over a single high fee that never repeats.
